Iranian Armed Forces launched a fresh wave of missile and drone attacks targeting U.S. military installations and commercial assets in Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan and Iraq on Monday, escalating regional tensions following recent U.S. airstrikes on Iranian territory, according to regional media reports.
The coordinated strikes were described as a retaliatory operation by Tehran after Washington carried out aerial attacks inside Iran. The latest exchange has further heightened fears of a broader regional conflict involving multiple Middle Eastern countries.
In Kuwait, explosions were reported in the Al-Mina area after Iranian missiles and drones allegedly struck locations hosting U.S. military forces. Regional media said the attacks targeted American military positions, although there was no immediate confirmation from Kuwaiti or U.S. authorities regarding casualties or the extent of the damage.
In neighboring Bahrain, Iranian strikes reportedly hit an American commercial company, triggering a major fire. Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising from the affected site, while additional smoke was reported near U.S. military bases and facilities linked to American operations across the island nation. Bahraini authorities have not yet released an official assessment of the incident.
In northern Iraq, several explosions were heard across Sulaymaniyah province after Iranian forces reportedly targeted a base used by anti-Iran separatist groups. The attack underscored Tehran’s continued efforts to strike organizations it accuses of carrying out hostile activities against the Islamic Republic from Iraqi territory.
Jordan also experienced multiple explosions as the conflict spilled into its airspace. The Jordanian Armed Forces said its air defense systems intercepted four Iranian missiles after they entered Jordanian airspace, preventing them from reaching their intended targets. Officials did not immediately report any casualties or property damage.
The latest attacks mark a significant expansion of Iran’s military response following U.S. strikes on Iranian territory, raising concerns about the risk of a wider regional confrontation. Military analysts warn that continued exchanges between Tehran and Washington could draw additional countries into the conflict and further threaten stability across the Gulf and the wider Middle East.
Neither the United States nor Iran had issued detailed official statements on the latest incidents at the time of reporting, while regional governments remained on high alert amid fears of further military escalation.
