CJCSC Gen Sahir Shamshad Mirza Awarded Prestigious King Abdulaziz Medal in Saudi Arabia
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza has been awarded the prestigious King Abdulaziz Medal of Honour (Excellent Class) during his official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), the military’s media wing said on Sunday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the honour was conferred in recognition of General Mirza’s significant role in strengthening Pakistan–Saudi relations, particularly in bolstering military-to-military cooperation.
During the visit, General Mirza met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces, General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili. The two military leaders discussed the evolving regional and global security environment and explored new avenues to expand bilateral defence collaboration.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further deepen the longstanding brotherly ties and defence partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi military leadership praised the professionalism of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged Pakistan’s sacrifices in the global fight against terrorism.
