Qalibaf Meets Leader to Discuss Latest National Developments
Talks focus on US-Israeli pressure, national unity, economic challenges and closer coordination between the government and Parliament.
TEHRAN: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has met with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei to discuss the latest political, military and economic developments in the country amid continued pressure from the United States and Israel.
According to Iran’s Tasnim News Agency, the meeting focused on what Iranian officials described as US-Israeli military, economic and cognitive warfare against the country, with both sides stressing the need to strengthen Iran’s national capabilities and consolidate its internal stability.
The discussions highlighted the importance of maintaining national unity and social cohesion, particularly amid the challenges facing the country. Both leaders underscored the role of members of Parliament in strengthening public solidarity, preserving social cohesion and supporting national interests during the ongoing crisis.
They also emphasized the importance of the Iranian public’s continued and conscious participation in public gatherings, describing the nation’s presence as a significant factor in demonstrating unity and serving as a deterrent against external pressure.
The meeting also addressed the economic challenges facing ordinary Iranians, with both sides stressing the need for closer cooperation between the government and Parliament to tackle livelihood-related difficulties and improve economic conditions.
The two leaders further discussed the importance of advancing affairs related to Iran’s strategic partners, underscoring the need to maintain cooperation and pursue national priorities despite the country’s prevailing challenges.
During the meeting, Qalibaf briefed the Supreme Leader on parliamentary activities since the beginning of what Iranian officials describe as the US-Israeli war of aggression. He also presented an overview of the legislature’s ongoing initiatives and future plans aimed at addressing the country’s problems and responding to public needs.
The meeting reflected the Iranian leadership’s emphasis on strengthening domestic cohesion, coordinating government and parliamentary efforts, addressing economic concerns and reinforcing national capabilities in the face of external pressure.
