Five terrorists, including key commander, killed in Panjgur operation
PANJGUR: Security forces have killed five terrorists, including a key commander of the banned militant network described by authorities as “Fitna al-Hindustan,” during an intelligence-based operation in Panjgur district of Balochistan, security sources said on Monday.
According to security sources, the operation was launched in the Sarkini and Chheedgi areas of Panjgur under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna III following credible intelligence about the presence of militants.
During the operation, security forces eliminated a key militant identified as Wazir, son of Jamal, along with four other terrorists, the sources said.
A substantial cache of weapons and explosives was recovered from the militants’ hideout, including four motorcycles, machine guns, a large quantity of ammunition and explosives, according to the sources.
The slain militants were allegedly involved in extortion, abductions and looting of traders and local residents in Panjgur and were also linked to several terrorist activities in the area, the sources said.
A clearance operation was underway in the surrounding areas to ensure the complete elimination of remaining militants and secure the area, they added.
