Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Global Peace on International Day of Multilateralism

On the occasion of the International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to promoting global peace, stability, and cooperation through multilateral engagement.

In his official message, Senator Dar emphasized that Pakistan firmly upholds the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter, which are grounded in sovereign equality among states, peaceful resolution of disputes, and collective efforts to maintain international peace and security. He noted that these principles remain as relevant today as ever in guiding nations toward harmony and coexistence.

Highlighting the current global situation, the Foreign Minister expressed concern over the growing number of conflicts worldwide and the declining trust in international institutions. He stressed that in such challenging times, multilateralism and diplomacy are not just important, but essential, describing them as the only credible and sustainable pathways to achieving lasting peace.

Dar underscored that the international community is facing complex challenges that require urgent and coordinated responses. He called for a renewed global commitment to dialogue, cooperation, and strict adherence to international law, adding that unilateral actions and confrontational approaches only deepen divisions and prolong conflicts.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s diplomatic stance, he stated that the country has consistently advocated for the peaceful settlement of disputes through dialogue, mediation, and diplomatic engagement. Over recent months, Pakistan has actively worked with regional and international partners to reduce tensions, bridge differences, and support peace initiatives in various conflict-affected regions.

The Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted Pakistan’s longstanding contributions to UN peacekeeping missions, noting that the country remains one of the leading contributors to global peace efforts. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to playing a constructive role in strengthening multilateral systems, fostering international cooperation, and promoting mutual understanding among nations.

Concluding his message, Senator Ishaq Dar called upon the international community to reinvigorate multilateralism and enhance diplomatic efforts. He urged nations to work collectively toward building a more peaceful, just, and prosperous world, where conflicts are resolved through dialogue and cooperation rather than confrontation.
