Ishaq Dar Chairs High-Level Meeting on Fuel Subsidy and Austerity Measures
ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee overseeing fuel subsidy and austerity measures.
During the session, the Petroleum Minister briefed participants on the current fuel supply situation in relation to consumption levels. He also updated the committee on ongoing efforts to secure fuel imports from regions unaffected by the conflict.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need for strict and effective implementation of the Prime Minister’s austerity measures in both letter and spirit.
The meeting was also informed about progress on the fuel subsidy program. Ishaq Dar directed that payment processes should be closely monitored to ensure timely relief and reduce the financial burden on the public.
The meeting was attended by the Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication, federal secretaries of Petroleum, IT and Telecom, all four provincial chief secretaries, as well as representatives from Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
