US talks are positive but outcome remains uncertain, FM Greenland Vivian Motzfeldt
COPENHAGEN: Greenland’s Foreign Minister Vivian Motzfeldt said on Saturday that ongoing talks with the United States, while encouraging, have not yet reached a stage that aligns with Greenland’s expectations, adding that it is too early to determine their eventual outcome.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Nuuk with her Danish and Canadian counterparts, Motzfeldt said the discussions remain in an early phase and are expected to be a lengthy process. She stressed that considerable work lies ahead before any tangible results can be achieved, cautioning against drawing conclusions about where the negotiations may ultimately lead.
The comments highlight Greenland’s cautious approach as diplomatic engagement with Washington continues, with officials emphasizing patience and long-term dialogue over immediate results.
