Army Chief Praises Balochistan’s Resilience, Vows to Counter Threats to Development
RAWALPINDI: (News Pulse) Chief of the Army Staff and Chief of the Defense Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Asim Munir, on Wednesday lauded the resilience and patriotism of the people of Baluchistan and pledged to thwart the inimical designs of Indian-sponsored proxies seeking to propagate violence and disrupt the province’s development.
Interaction at 18th National Workshop on Baluchistan
Field Marshal Munir made these remarks while interacting with participants of the 18th National Workshop on Baluchistan held at the General Headquarters (GHQ). The workshop focused on Baluchistan’s socio-economic development and its strategic importance for Pakistan.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the CDF appreciated the steadfastness and national spirit of Baluchistan’s people and highlighted the province’s pivotal role in Pakistan’s long-term growth and prosperity.
Baluchistan’s Strategic and Economic Significance
Addressing the participants, Field Marshal Munir described Baluchistan as central to the country’s future growth. He lauded the federal and provincial governments’ wide-ranging initiatives aimed at improving socio-economic conditions and unlocking the province’s vast economic potential for the benefit of its residents.
He also acknowledged the constructive role of civil society, particularly its efforts in countering propaganda and misinformation, emphasizing its importance in fostering national cohesion and sustainable development.
Security Challenges and Threats
Field Marshal Munir highlighted ongoing security challenges, noting that Indian-sponsored proxies continue to spread violence and disrupt development. He reaffirmed that such “inimical designs will be thwarted” through decisive action by the security forces to eliminate terrorism and unrest in the province.
Reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability, he warned that any violation of the country’s sovereignty or territorial integrity, whether direct or indirect, would be met with a firm response. He emphasized that the Pakistan Armed Forces remain fully committed to safeguarding the lives, well-being, and aspirations of the people.
