According to Financial Times, Field Marshal Asim Munir is an expert in multi-dimensional foreign policy and is regarded as one of the most successful “multi-aligners” among middle powers. The report states that shifting global politics has ushered in a new yet challenging era for middle powers, making diplomatic maneuvering increasingly complex.
The newspaper notes that Pakistan’s military leadership has remained actively engaged with Washington, Beijing, Riyadh, and Tehran simultaneously, successfully advancing Pakistan’s diplomacy in a rapidly changing international environment. Field Marshal Asim Munir’s timely engagement and diplomatic tact with former US President Donald Trump proved particularly effective.
The report further highlights that Pakistan’s diplomatic success has caused frustration for India, as New Delhi struggled to adapt to the changing global dynamics and Trump’s diplomatic style.
