Security Forces Eliminate 71 Terrorists in Major Balochistan Counterterrorism Operations

33 terrorists killed in Shaban operation, while 17 others eliminated in separate operations in Nushki and Mand

Operation Shaban intensified as security forces clear terrorist hideouts in Ziarat, Nushki and Mand; weapons and explosives recovered

QUETTA: (News Pulse)  Pakistan’s security forces have killed more than 71 terrorists in separate intelligence-based operations across Balochistan over the past 96 hours, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the military’s media wing, intelligence agencies had identified multiple hideouts of what it described as Indian-sponsored Fitna Al-Khawarij and Fitna Al-Hindustan in the general area of Shaban in Quetta district. The hideouts were reportedly posing a threat to the local population.

Acting on credible intelligence, security forces launched a swift operation in Ziarat and adjoining areas on September 21, 2026, as part of Operation Shaban.

During the operation, security forces engaged the militants and cleared several hideouts following intense exchanges of fire. The ISPR said 33 terrorists had been killed so far, while weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the cleared areas.

The military said the operation was intensified over the last 72 hours, resulting in the killing of 23 additional terrorists. Security forces also cleared a large area and enabled local communities to be relieved of what the ISPR described as the threat posed by the militant groups.

The clearance operation remains underway to ensure the complete neutralisation of the threat, according to the statement.

In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted on September 25 in Nushki district, security forces effectively engaged a terrorist hideout and killed 11 Indian-sponsored terrorists, the ISPR said.

In another operation in Mand, security forces killed six Fitna Al-Hindustan terrorists and recovered a large quantity of weapons and ammunition.

The ISPR said that, with operations continuing, more than 71 terrorists have been killed in Operation Shaban and other areas of Balochistan during the last 96 hours.

The military described the operations as a major blow to what it called foreign-sponsored militant networks operating in the province.

The statement said Pakistan’s counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee of the National Action Plan, would continue with full resolve.

“Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

The operations come amid continued security concerns in Balochistan, where security forces have been conducting intelligence-based operations against militant networks and their suspected support infrastructure.
