Pakistan, US make significant progress in reciprocal trade agreement talks
ISLAMABAD: (News Pulse) Pakistan and the United States held negotiations on a proposed Reciprocal Trade Agreement in Washington, D.C., on July 9-10, with both sides reporting significant progress toward finalising the deal.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said the talks were held in a cordial atmosphere, during which the two sides worked to resolve outstanding issues and build greater convergence with a view to reaching an early conclusion of the agreement.
The Pakistani delegation was led by Secretary Commerce Jawad Paul, who described the discussions as positive and welcomed the substantial progress achieved during the negotiations.
The proposed agreement is aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and enhancing economic cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
