Asim Munir Joins Türkiye, Saudi Military Chiefs for MJDA Defence Meeting

RIYADH: (News Pulse) Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Türkiye’s Chief of the General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu and Saudi Arabia’s Chief of the General Staff General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili participated in a trilateral meeting in Riyadh under the framework of the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement (MJDA), according to an official statement.
According to ISPR that the meeting brought together the senior military leadership of the three countries as part of the defence cooperation framework established by the agreement signed between Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia.
Field Marshal Munir represented Pakistan at the meeting in his capacity as COAS and CDF, while Bayraktaroğlu represented the Turkish Armed Forces and Al-Ruwaili represented the Saudi Armed Forces.
The MJDA provides a framework for strengthening defence and security cooperation among the three countries. The Riyadh meeting was held as part of efforts to advance coordination under the agreement and strengthen institutional mechanisms for trilateral military cooperation.
The three military chiefs discussed matters relating to defence cooperation and coordination, with the meeting providing an opportunity to exchange views on regional security developments and areas of mutual interest.
Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia have maintained close defence and security ties, including military-to-military cooperation, training and exchanges between their armed forces.
The meeting in Riyadh follows the signing of the Mecca Joint Defence Agreement, which established a formal framework for enhanced defence cooperation among the three countries.
The trilateral engagement comes amid broader efforts by the three countries to strengthen strategic coordination and deepen cooperation in areas of common security interest.
Officials did not immediately provide further details on specific decisions or measures agreed at the meeting.
