Dar- Araghchi Hold Key Talks on Regional Crisis, Energy Security
Pakistan calls for safe passage of ships and uninterrupted energy supplies; ministers to meet in New York
ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and discussed the latest developments in the region.
According to a Foreign Office statement, the two foreign ministers exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and emphasized the need for continued engagement and close coordination to address emerging challenges.
Ishaq Dar stressed the importance of ensuring uninterrupted energy supplies and the safe and expeditious passage of ships, particularly in view of their impact on developing countries and global supply chains.
The Deputy Prime Minister underscored that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only viable means of securing lasting peace and stability in the region.
During the conversation, both sides agreed to maintain close cooperation and coordination on regional matters.
Ishaq Dar and Abbas Araghchi also agreed to meet in New York on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly to further discuss regional developments and matters of mutual interest.
