British High Commissioner Jane Marriott meets Ishaq Dar; sides review understandings reached during DPM’s August UK visit

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Britain have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and British High Commissioner Jane Marriott discussing recent understandings and expanding cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

According to Foreign Affairs that the , Marriott called on Ishaq Dar in Islamabad, where the two sides reviewed progress on understandings reached during the deputy prime minister’s visit to the United Kingdom in August.

The discussions focused on ways to translate those understandings into further practical cooperation between the two countries, as well as strengthening engagement across areas of shared interest.

Ishaq Dar stressed the importance of sustained high-level contacts between Pakistan and the UK, underscoring the need for continued engagement to further advance bilateral ties.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.

The talks underscored the two countries’ intention to maintain close diplomatic engagement and build on recent high-level contacts to further broaden bilateral cooperation.
