US Charge d’Affaires meets Ishaq Dar, discusses important issues on Pak-US relations

Both sides discuss bilateral cooperation, regional developments and the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for lasting peace

ISLAMABAD: (News Pulse) U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker called on Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Tuesday, with the two sides discussing Pakistan-U.S. bilateral cooperation and recent regional developments.

According to the Foreign Office that, during the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on the evolving regional situation and matters of mutual interest. The importance of dialogue and diplomacy in promoting regional stability and achieving lasting peace was underscored.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar appreciated the positive trajectory in Pakistan-U.S. relations and stressed the importance of regular engagement and continued consultations on issues of mutual interest.

The two sides also discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and maintain close diplomatic coordination on regional and international issues.

Referring to the upcoming 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Ishaq Dar noted that Pakistan’s delegation would be led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The meeting reaffirmed the importance of sustained Pakistan-U.S. engagement and diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting peace, stability and cooperation in the region.
