Iran’s IRGC Says Israel-, US-Linked ‘Terrorist Team’ Dismantled in Saravan
TEHRAN: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that a terrorist group allegedly linked to Israel and the United States was identified and dismantled in Saravan following an intelligence-led operation.
According to the IRGC Ground Forces’ Quds Garrison, security forces detected the group through intelligence monitoring and subsequently carried out a joint operation against its members, Iran’s ISNA news agency reported.
The IRGC said one member of the alleged group was killed during the operation, while six others were arrested.
Security personnel also reportedly seized 20 packages of explosives, a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, and Starlink communications equipment allegedly belonging to the group.
The IRGC did not provide further details about the identities of those arrested or specify the alleged activities the group was planning in the Saravan area.
