Iran, Pakistan Step Up Consultations Amid Regional Tensions

ISLAMABAD: (News Pulse)  Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir held a telephone conversation on Tuesday to discuss recent regional developments and matters of mutual concern.

According to a statement issued by Iran’s Foreign Ministry, the two officials reviewed the latest developments in the region and emphasised the need for continued consultations and coordinated efforts to promote peace, security and stability.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry said both sides stressed the importance of maintaining close coordination and pursuing joint initiatives aimed at strengthening regional stability.

No further details about the conversation were immediately made public.

Pakistan has played a key mediating role between Iran and the United States, working alongside Qatar as part of diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and facilitating dialogue during the ongoing regional crisis.
