CDF Munir, Mohsin Naqvi Conclude Iran Visit as Pakistan Pushes for End to US-Iran Conflict
TEHRAN: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF), along with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, concluded a day-long visit to Iran as part of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to break the deadlock in the ongoing US-Iran conflict and promote lasting peace in the region.
During the visit, Field Marshal Asim Munir held meetings with senior Iranian leadership, including President Masoud Pezeshkian, Representative of the Supreme Leader on the Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
According to the ISPR statement, the discussions focused on measures to prevent further escalation of the conflict, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the possibility of bringing the hostilities to an early end.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional peace and explored ways to reach a negotiated settlement to the disputes.
Iranian leadership appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and sincere efforts to facilitate dialogue, reduce tensions and seek a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
Upon his arrival in Tehran, Field Marshal Asim Munir was received by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and other senior Iranian civil and military officials.
The visit forms part of Pakistan’s broader diplomatic efforts to encourage de-escalation and help establish a durable framework for peace and stability in the region.
