Pakistan–EU leadership discuss regional stability and economic cooperation

Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, held an important conversation today with Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s Vice President and High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, to discuss key regional and economic developments.

Focus on Regional Situation

According to Foreign Office that , During the discussion, both leaders exchanged views on the evolving regional situation, paying particular attention to its wider economic and geopolitical implications. The dialogue highlighted the importance of stability in the region and its direct impact on global and regional economies.

Kaja Kallas acknowledged Pakistan’s constructive and facilitative role in promoting peace and stability. She appreciated the country’s ongoing efforts to encourage diplomatic engagement and maintain a balanced approach amid regional challenges.

Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Dialogue

Mohammad Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s consistent commitment to promoting dialogue and engagement as the primary means of addressing regional issues. He emphasized that peaceful cooperation and communication remain central to Pakistan’s foreign policy approach.

Strengthening Economic Partnerships

The Deputy Prime Minister also commended the successful organization of the EU–Pakistan Business Forum recently held in Islamabad. He noted that the forum played a significant role in strengthening economic partnerships and opening new avenues for trade and investment between Pakistan and the European Union.

Continued Engagement

Both sides agreed to remain in close contact and continue their consultations on regional developments as well as bilateral cooperation. The conversation reflects a shared commitment to fostering peace, stability, and stronger economic ties between Pakistan and the European Union.
