Pakistan condemns terror attack on Chinese Nationals in Tajikistan, calls for action against Fagan-Based Militants
Pakistan has extended heartfelt condolences and strong solidarity to the governments and people of China and Tajikistan following a deadly terrorist attack near Tajikistan’s border with Afghanistan, which claimed the lives of several Chinese nationals.
In a strongly worded statement by Pakistan Foreign Office, denounced the assault as a “heinous” and “cowardly” act. It noted that the use of armed drones in the attack highlights the severity of the threat emanating from Afghan territory and the audacity of the perpetrators.
As a neighbouring country that has repeatedly suffered from terrorism planned or supported from Afghan soil, Pakistan said its people deeply share the sorrow of their Chinese and Tajik counterparts.
Islamabad reiterated its long-standing position that Afghan territory must never be used for terrorism against neighbouring states or any other country. The continued presence of terrorist groups in Afghanistan under the patronage of the Afghan Taliban regime, it warned, is a growing concern for the entire region and the international community.
Pakistan stressed that only concrete and verifiable steps against the perpetrators, facilitators, abettors, and financiers of such terrorist groups can curb this rising threat. It reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with China, Tajikistan, and regional partners to enhance peace, stability, and security in the shared neighbourhood.
