Pakistan and EU hold third Session of migration and mobility dialogue
Islamabad, October 30, 2025 — The Third Session of the Pakistan–European Union (EU) Migration and Mobility Dialogue was held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). The meeting was co-chaired by Director General (Europe) Irfan Ahmed from Pakistan and Deputy Director General (HOME) Johannes Luchner representing the EU.
During the session, both sides reviewed progress made in discussions a day earlier at the 16th Pakistan–EU Joint Readmission Committee and the 3rd Pakistan–EU Talent Partnership Roundtable, held at the Ministry of Interior & Narcotics Control and the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, respectively.
The two sides welcomed the growing cooperation on migration and labour mobility issues. The Pakistani delegation reaffirmed its commitment to the EU Readmission Agreement (EURA), while the EU side acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts to curb irregular migration.
Both parties agreed to advance the implementation of the Pakistan–EU Talent Partnership Roadmap, aimed at creating mutually beneficial opportunities for legal migration and skills development.
It was further agreed that the next session of the Migration and Mobility Dialogue will be held in Brussels.
