Oscar Winning Gene Hackman and his wife found dead at their home
Oscar-Winning US top actor Gene Hackman, his wife Betsy Arakawa and their dog have been found dead at their home in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
In a wide-ranging career spanning more than six decades, Hackman won two Academy Awards for his work on The French Connection and Unforgiven.
A statement from the Santa Fe County Sheriff in New Mexico said: “We can confirm that both Gene Hackman and his wife were found deceased Wednesday afternoon at their residence on Sunset Trail.
Authorities say foul play isn’t suspected, but they haven’t disclosed how the couple died and said an investigation was ongoing.

Hackman was 95 and his wife 63.
Hickman, who has appeared in several films, retired from the film world in 2004 and has been living a quiet life in New Mexico with his wife, Betsy Arakawa.
