Leadership<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>UN chief to meet President Zardari, PM Shehbaz, Ishaq Dar and COAS Asim Munir during three-day visit<\/p>\n<p><strong>ISLAMABAD: (News Pulse) United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will undertake an official visit to Pakistan from October 6 to 8 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Foreign Office said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>During his three-day visit, the<a href=\"http:\/\/@ForeignOfficePk\"> UN chief<\/a> is scheduled to hold meetings with Pakistan\u2019s top leadership, including President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Foreign Office, Guterres will also visit the headquarters of the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP), where he will receive a briefing on the UN mission and its role in monitoring the Line of Control.<\/p>\n<p>The UN secretary-general will also visit the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), where he will attend a briefing highlighting Pakistan\u2019s efforts to strengthen disaster preparedness, early warning systems and resilience against natural disasters.<\/p>\n<p>The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for Pakistan to highlight its contributions towards strengthening multilateralism, international peace and security, as well as its efforts to promote global cooperation in addressing humanitarian and development challenges.<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Office said the visit would also serve as an important opportunity to reaffirm Pakistan\u2019s longstanding cooperation with the United Nations and exchange views with the UN secretary-general on key regional and international developments.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan will also acknowledge Guterres\u2019 leadership and contributions to advancing international peace, development and multilateral cooperation during his tenure as UN secretary-general.<\/p>\n<p>The Foreign Office emphasized that the forthcoming visit reflects Pakistan\u2019s unwavering support for multilateralism with the United Nations at its core and its abiding commitment to the purposes and principles of the UN Charter.<\/p>\n<p>Guterres\u2019 visit comes at a time of heightened regional and international challenges, making his engagements with Pakistan\u2019s leadership particularly significant for discussions on peace, security, humanitarian
