Iranian Supreme Leader Calls for Muslim Unity, Warns of US and Israeli Plots<\/strong><\/h3>\n

TEHRAN: Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei<\/a> has called for greater unity, cooperation and solidarity among Muslim countries, warning that the United States and Israel are working to create divisions within the Islamic world.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In a message issued on Sunday on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and the beginning of Islamic Unity Week, the Iranian leader said Muslim unity was the key prerequisite for confronting challenges facing the Islamic world and achieving what he described as a new Islamic civilization.<\/p>\n

Congratulating the Iranian nation and the wider Muslim Ummah on the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and Imam Ja\u2019far Sadiq (PBUH), Ayatollah Khamenei said the life and teachings of the Prophet and his successors provided guidance on faith, ethics, justice, knowledge, dignity, mercy and brotherhood.<\/p>\n

He stressed that Muslims should place the Quranic principle of being \u201cfirm against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves\u201d at the center of their actions and policies.<\/p>\n

According to the Iranian leader, unity should not be limited to slogans but should be based on common values, mutual respect, peaceful dialogue and efforts to turn differences into areas of cooperation.<\/p>\n

He said the Muslim world had reached a \u201cfateful and decisive juncture\u201d after centuries of challenges and developments, arguing that the prospect of truth overcoming falsehood and Islam overcoming disbelief was closer than at any previous time.<\/p>\n

Ayatollah Khamenei identified Muslim unity as the first and most important requirement for achieving that objective. He warned that enemies of Islam were exploiting religious, ethnic, cultural, social, economic, political and geographical differences to weaken Muslim societies.<\/p>\n

He referred to the Quranic injunction against disputes that lead to the loss of courage and strength, saying anyone whose actions contribute to division and discord among Muslims effectively advances the agenda of Islam\u2019s enemies, whether intentionally or unintentionally.<\/p>\n

The Iranian leader particularly criticized the United States and Israel, accusing them of openly pursuing colonial and hegemonic objectives.<\/p>\n

He urged Muslims to examine developments in the region carefully and questioned whether the Palestinian people would have faced such suffering and insecurity if the Muslim world had remained united.<\/p>\n

He also questioned whether countries surrounding the Persian Gulf would face threats to their territories and resources if they had established stronger unity and cooperation under the banner of Islam.<\/p>\n

Ayatollah Khamenei called on the rulers of Muslim countries, particularly those in West Asia and around the Persian Gulf, to identify their \u201ctrue enemy,\u201d understand its strategies and work collectively to confront threats.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe solution to the Islamic Ummah\u2019s problems lies in maintaining unity, friendship and cooperation,\u201d he said, while describing the United States and Israel as the principal opponents of such unity.<\/p>\n

He maintained that Washington and Tel Aviv were not opposed only to Iran or the Islamic Resistance but harbored hostility toward the broader Muslim world, including countries in West Asia and North Africa.<\/p>\n

The Iranian leader said Muslim countries should learn three major lessons from the concept of Islamic unity: avoiding internal discord, defending one another against external threats, and strengthening cooperation in economic, security, scientific and developmental fields.<\/p>\n

He argued that greater cooperation in these areas would help Muslim nations move toward the establishment of a \u201cNew Islamic Civilization.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ayatollah Khamenei also highlighted Iran as a model where the principle of Muslim unity had, in his view, been realized to an acceptable degree. He urged the Iranian people to remain united and prevent divisions from emerging within society.<\/p>\n

The message concluded with prayers for divine protection over Muslim societies and a call for Islamic nations to advance toward greater progress, dignity and prosperity by following what he described as divine guidance and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
