{"id":19452,"date":"2026-08-22T01:20:24","date_gmt":"2026-08-21T20:20:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/newspulse.com.pk\/en\/?p=19452"},"modified":"2026-08-22T01:20:24","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T20:20:24","slug":"hezbollah-says-us-sanctions-cannot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newspulse.com.pk\/en\/2026\/08\/22\/hezbollah-says-us-sanctions-cannot\/","title":{"rendered":"Hezbollah Says, US Sanctions Cannot Stop Resistance to Israel"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3><strong>Hezbollah Says, US Sanctions Cannot Stop Resistance to Israel<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>BEIRUT: Lebanon\u2019s Hezbollah has rejected new US sanctions against the group, saying Washington\u2019s measures will not deter it from what it describes as its \u201cresistance\u201d to Israel.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The statement came after the United States imposed fresh sanctions on <a href=\"http:\/\/@HezbMonitor\">Hezbollah<\/a> and accused the Lebanese group of advancing Iranian interests and operating under the influence of Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The US Treasury Department said it had amended Hezbollah\u2019s legal classification, alleging that the group \u201cguards the interests of the Iranian government and operates under the leadership of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Washington also announced sanctions against 10 additional individuals it accused of being part of a financial network that transfers funds to Hezbollah.<\/p>\n<p>Rejecting the measures, Hezbollah said the sanctions and what it called \u201cunfair classifications\u201d would not change its position.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll these sanctions and unfair classifications cannot divert us from the path of resistance and the right of Lebanon and the Lebanese people to defend their land, sovereignty and resources,\u201d the group said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Hezbollah also reaffirmed its ties with Tehran, saying it maintained a \u201cclose and brotherly relationship\u201d with Iran, which it said it valued and was proud of.<\/p>\n<p>The US Treasury, meanwhile, alleged that Hezbollah operates an international financial network designed to circumvent American sanctions.
