He further accused India of having a long history of interfering in the internal affairs of neighboring countries and undermining their sovereignty and territorial integrity, actions he claimed were contrary to the principles of the United Nations Charter.

The spokesperson also criticized India over the situation in Indian-administered Kashmir, alleging that New Delhi continues to deny Kashmiris their right to self-determination in violation of relevant United Nations resolutions.

In addition, Andrabi accused India of supporting and financing terrorist groups operating from Afghan territory against Pakistan. He claimed that such activities violate the relevant United Nations Security Council sanctions regime and contribute to instability in the region.

Describing India as a “regional spoiler,” Andrabi said Pakistan rejects what it called India’s “baseless accusations” and “inflammatory statements.” He added that such allegations should not be taken seriously by the international community.

Reaffirming Pakistan’s position, Andrabi stated that the country would continue to take all necessary and appropriate measures, in accordance with international law, to ensure the safety and security of its citizens against terrorist threats.

Pakistan Details Recent Military Operation

The statement from the Foreign Office follows Pakistan’s announcement of military strikes conducted late Sunday night against what it described as terrorist hideouts along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the operation resulted in the deaths of 29 militants. According to him, the strikes were launched after a series of recent terrorist attacks inside Pakistan targeting civilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, as well as a Pakistan Rangers (Sindh) camp in Karachi.

Tarar stated that the operation was carried out as part of Operation Ghazab lil-Haq, during which Pakistani security forces conducted precision strikes overnight between June 28 and June 29 against alleged terrorist camps and hideouts located in border regions.

According to the minister, three major targets located in Afghanistan’s Paktia, Paktika and Kunar provinces were struck. He said the operation destroyed terrorist infrastructure, killed 25 militants at those locations, and eliminated large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at the camps.

Rising Security Concerns

Pakistan has repeatedly expressed concern over an increase in militant violence since 2021, when the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan. Islamabad says terrorist attacks have risen significantly, particularly in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Pakistani authorities maintain that militant groups continue to use Afghan territory to plan and launch attacks inside Pakistan, an allegation that the Afghan Taliban administration has consistently denied.

According to Pakistani officials, Operation Ghazab lil-Haq has targeted Afghan Taliban operatives and allied militant groups, resulting in the deaths of numerous fighters and injuries to many others.

Tensions between the two neighboring countries have remained high in recent years. In October 2025, heavy border clashes broke out after Afghan Taliban forces and affiliated militants allegedly launched attacks on Pakistani border posts.

Although Islamabad and Kabul have held several rounds of diplomatic talks aimed at easing tensions, both sides have so far failed to reach a lasting agreement. Pakistani officials argue that progress has been hindered by what they describe as the Afghan Taliban government’s unwillingness to take decisive action against militant organizations operating from Afghan territory, while the Taliban administration has rejected those accusations.

Pakistan Rejects India’s Remarks on Anti-Terror Strikes in Afghanistan, Calls Them ‘Baseless’ Islamabad: Pakistan on Wednesday strongly rejected India’s criticism of its recent military operation against alleged terrorist infrastructure inside Afghanistan, describing New Delhi’s comments as “baseless” and “preposterous.” In an official statement posted on X, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said Pakistan’s military action […]

[2297,2298
3614
post-18863","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-news","category-pakistan","tag-foreign-office-pakistan
["GET
