These agreements originally marked a major diplomatic shift, as they were the first Arab-Israeli normalization deals in more than 25 years, beginning a new phase of official relations between Israel and several Arab states.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated that he was “mandatorily requesting” all the mentioned countries to immediately join the Abraham Accords. He also suggested that if Iran reaches a deal with him, it could eventually be welcomed into this expanding diplomatic framework. According to him, such a development would create what he described as an “unparalleled world coalition.”

He further argued that the extensive diplomatic efforts undertaken by the United States to bring together such a complex arrangement should now be advanced into a larger regional agreement. Trump expressed optimism that most of the countries involved would be willing participants, though he acknowledged that one or two may have reservations or strategic reasons for not joining at this stage.

Trump also claimed that negotiations with Iran were “proceeding nicely,” although he did not provide any timeline or indication that a final agreement was close.

The idea of linking a potential Iran deal with the expansion of the Abraham Accords has received support from some political allies. Senator Lindsey Graham has described the concept as potentially transformative for both the Middle East and global stability.

However, analysts and critics have offered more cautious interpretations. Some argue that this approach is being used to make a possible Iran agreement more politically acceptable to skeptics in Washington and the region. Ali Vaez of the International Crisis Group suggested that framing the policy in this way may be overly optimistic, warning that it risks replacing one unrealistic expectation with another by assuming a fragile agreement could fundamentally reshape Middle Eastern politics.

The Abraham Accords were originally brokered during Trump’s first term in office, with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signing in 2020. This broke a long-standing regional norm by formally recognizing Israel. Later, Morocco and Sudan also agreed to normalize relations.

While there has been speculation in recent years that Saudi Arabia could eventually join the accords—especially after a ceasefire in Gaza last year—Riyadh has not shown readiness to proceed. Meanwhile, Egypt and Jordan already maintain long-standing diplomatic relations with Israel.

Israel’s government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, did not immediately respond to Trump’s latest remarks, and most of the countries mentioned also have not issued public responses so far.

Trump links Iran deal to Abraham Accords Says it should be mandatory for Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Türkiye to join Abraham Accords as part of Iran deal United States President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he has urged several countries—including Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, and Türkiye—to collectively join the Abraham Accords […]

[2297,2299
3775
post-18699","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-latest-news","category-world","tag-donald-trump-usa
["GET
