Donald Trump<\/a> on Saturday criticized North Atlantic Treaty Organization for not supporting the United States during its ongoing conflict with Iran. Speaking at an event, he expressed frustration, saying NATO had failed to stand by the US despite receiving billions of dollars in support over the years. He questioned why the US should continue defending its allies if they do not offer support in return.<\/p>\n

As tensions rise across the Middle East, Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed it targeted a US military support vessel near Salalah, while stating that it respects the sovereignty of Oman. At the same time, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian warned regional countries not to allow enemies to use their territory for attacks against Iran, emphasizing that Iran does not initiate conflict but will respond strongly if targeted.<\/p>\n

The conflict has already resulted in casualties, with at least five people killed and several injured in a US-Israeli strike in Zanjan. Iran has retaliated with missile and drone attacks on US bases across the Gulf, while Bahrain reported intercepting hundreds of incoming missiles and drones. Diplomatic efforts are ongoing, with Sergei Lavrov and Abbas Araghchi discussing possible solutions. Meanwhile, Marco Rubio stated that the United States expects to complete its military operations within weeks. Hakan Fidan warned that the situation is pushing the region toward a wider war.<\/p>\n

The conflict is also impacting the global economy, with oil prices rising sharply and stock markets falling. The Strait of Hormuz remains under threat, raising concerns about disruptions to global energy supplies. Iran has vowed to impose a \u201cheavy price\u201d for attacks on its infrastructure, while missile exchanges between Iran and Israel continue, causing casualties and widespread alarm.<\/p>\n
