GUWAHATI:<\/strong> Skipper Laura Wolvaardt<\/strong> produced a masterclass with the bat, smashing a magnificent 169<\/strong> to power South Africa<\/strong> into their first-ever Women\u2019s ODI World Cup final<\/strong><\/a>, defeating England<\/strong> by a commanding 125 runs<\/strong> in the first semi-final on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Batting first, the Proteas posted an imposing 319 for 7<\/strong>, before Marizanne Kapp<\/strong> tore through England\u2019s batting lineup with a sensational 5 for 20<\/strong>, bundling them out for 194 in 42.3 overs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The victory marks South Africa\u2019s third consecutive World Cup final appearance<\/strong> \u2014 after reaching back-to-back T20 finals \u2014 but their maiden entry in the 50-over format<\/strong>. They will now face the winner of the second semi-final between Australia<\/strong> and India<\/strong> in Sunday\u2019s title clash near Mumbai.<\/p>\n

Wolvaardt Leads from the Front<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Wolvaardt, in imperious form, struck her first World Cup century<\/strong> and dominated the English attack with 20 fours and four sixes<\/strong> in her 143-ball<\/strong> innings.
