Iran Threatens to Expand Target List if Enemies Resort to Terrorism
TEHRAN: Iran’s Armed Forces have finalised a comprehensive operational plan to deliver a decisive and extensive response to any military aggression against the country, a senior Iranian security and political official has said.
Speaking to Al Mayadeen television, the Army official said the operational plan had been completed and that Iran’s decision to respond decisively to any military attack was “absolutely certain.”
“The comprehensive and operational plan of Iran’s Armed Forces has been completed, and the decision to deliver a decisive, comprehensive and very extensive response to any military aggression is absolutely certain,” the official said.
Warning Iran’s adversaries and their regional supporters, the official said they would have to wait and see the nature of Tehran’s response, adding that its scale and intensity would exceed their expectations.
“The scale and intensity of Iran’s forthcoming response will be beyond their imagination and will certainly be shocking,” the official warned.
The Iranian official further cautioned that any resort to terrorist acts by the country’s adversaries would lead to an expansion of Iran’s list of legitimate targets.
According to the official, such targets could include political centres, facilities and headquarters belonging to Iran’s enemies and their regional supporters.
