Islamabad (News Pulse) the tenure of the Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa has been extended for three years for the continuation of the current efforts to restore peace in the restive belt of the country.

According to a notification issued by the PM Office on Monday, the decision has been taken keeping in view the regional security environment.

His extension marks the second time in nearly a decade that the country’s top General had their traditional three-year term extended.

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Monday said that extension in term of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa is a clear message for the entire world that the country’s civil and military leadership is on the same page.

Foreign Minister Qureshi said,’Tha decision to appoint General Bajwa as Chief of Army Staff for another three years has been taken keeping in mind the security environment in the entire region, including Afghanistan and Indian Occupied Kashmir.
