33 Indian-Sponsored Terrorists Killed in Major Security Operation across Balochistan: ISPR

Security forces eliminate 33 terrorists in intelligence-based operations; hideouts, weapons and explosives recovered

RAWALPINDI: (News Pulse) Pakistan’s security forces have killed 33 terrorists in intelligence-based operations conducted across Balochistan over the past 24 to 48 hours, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Friday.

According to an ISPR press release, the operations were carried out as part of an ongoing counterterrorism campaign against what Pakistan describes as Indian-sponsored elements of Fitna al-Khawarij and Fitna al-Hindustan.

The military’s media wing said that 33 terrorists had been killed since September 21 during the continuing operations in Balochistan.

As part of Operation Shaban, security forces on September 24 conducted an operation against terrorist hideouts in the province. During an intense exchange of fire, five terrorists were killed, taking the total number of terrorists eliminated in the operation to 22, according to ISPR.

The security forces also recovered weapons, ammunition and explosives from the terrorists’ hideouts.

ISPR said clearance operations were continuing in the area and would remain underway until the complete neutralisation of the threat.

In a separate intelligence-based operation conducted in Nushki district on September 25, security forces engaged a terrorist hideout. Following an intense exchange of fire, 11 terrorists were killed, the statement said.

The ISPR said the operations were part of the security forces’ continuing counterterrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan.

“The counterterrorism campaign by Pakistan’s Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies will continue at full pace,” the statement said, adding that efforts would continue to eliminate what it described as the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
