In phone call with Iranian FM, Dars call for ‘immediate halt to escalation through diplomacy
Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday strongly condemned what he termed as “unwarranted attacks” against Iran, hours after the United States and Israel carried out air strikes on the Islamic Republic, escalating tensions in the region and raising fears of a broader conflict.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office on its official X account, Mr Dar received a telephone call from his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi. The two leaders reviewed the evolving situation in Iran and the wider region amid the rapidly developing crisis.
The statement said the deputy prime minister strongly denounced the attacks and called for an immediate halt to further escalation. He emphasized the urgent need for the resumption of diplomatic efforts to ensure a peaceful and negotiated resolution to the crisis.
