Captain among six Soldiers Martyred, Seven terrorists killed in Kurram IBO: ISPR

Kurram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa – October 29:
Six Pakistan Army soldiers, including a captain, were martyred while seven terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Kurram District, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation was launched in the Dogar area following reports of the presence of India-backed Fitna al-Khawarij terrorists.

“During an intense exchange of fire, Captain Noman Saleem, a 24-year-old medical officer from District Mianwali, fought valiantly while providing medical assistance to his comrades and embraced martyrdom along with five fellow soldiers,” the ISPR said.

The martyred soldiers were identified as:

  • Captain Noman Saleem (24) – Medical Officer, District Mianwali
  • Havildar Amjad Ali (39)
  • Naik Waqas Ahmad (36)
  • Sepoy Aijaz Ali (23)
  • Sepoy Muhammad Waleed (23)
  • Sepoy Muhammad Shahbaz (32)

The ISPR added that a sanitisation operation is underway to eliminate any remaining militants in the area. The statement reaffirmed the armed forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism as part of Operation Azm-e-Istehkam.

“Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism, and the sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the statement concluded.
