Saudi Arabia reaffirms commitment to two-state solution

Saudi Arabia remains deeply engaged in efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.

Riyadh: His Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has reaffirmed the Kingdom’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause, emphasizing its continued support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Prince Faisal highlighted that Saudi Arabia’s joint presidency with France of the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution reflects its principled and long-standing position on the issue.

The conference is scheduled to take place this week at the United Nations headquarters in New York City, with wide international participation.

The Foreign Minister underscored that, under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia remains deeply engaged in efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace in the Middle East.

He noted the Kingdom’s ongoing initiatives to end the suffering of the Palestinian people, break the cycle of violence, and resolve the enduring Palestinian-Israeli conflict that has taken a heavy human toll and fueled regional instability.

Prince Faisal added that the conference also aligns with the objectives of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution—launched by Saudi Arabia, Norway, and the European Union in September 2024—and supports the efforts of the Joint Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee to secure Palestinian rights and promote regional peace and development.
