World Artificial Intelligence Conference kicks off in Shanghai
The 2023 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) commenced in Shanghai in Thursday under the theme “Intelligent Connectivity: Generating the Future”.
Scheduled to run from July 6 to 8, the conference comprises four key sections: conference and forum, exhibition, contest and awards.
This year’s event aims to shed light on emerging avenues for industrial and technological advancements, propelling the innovation and development of the next generation of artificial intelligence (AI).
With more than 30 AI models on display, the conference seeks to showcase the profound impact these models have on various industries.
Over 1,400 distinguished guests have confirmed their attendance, including four Nobel Prize and Turing Award laureates, over 80 academics from both China and abroad, and more than 50 enterprise pioneers from renowned tech giants such as Huawei, Alibaba, Apple and Tesla.
This year’s conference boasts the largest number of exhibitors and the largest exhibition area in its history.
Spanning a sprawling 50,000 square meters, the venue will accommodate over 400 companies and 50 start-ups, presenting a diverse range of industries, including AI models, chips, robotics and smart driving.
Since its inception in 2018, the annual WAIS has focused on established world-class cooperation and exchange platforms, showcasing the wisdom of China and the innovative solutions of Shanghai to the world.
