Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood said that, “Kashmir Committee has decided to constitute ‘Kashmir Cell’ in the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi held a joint press conference with Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor and Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday in Islamabad.
Meanwhile, Mr Qureshi stated that the Kashmir Committee has decided to constitute ‘Kashmir Cell’ in the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan.
In this regard, Kashmir Desks will be formed in embassies of Pakistan in several countries “in order to carry out effective communication on the matter.”
it was the first meeting of the committee and all members, including representatives from the opposition had put forward their opinion for proceeding with the Kashmir dispute.
“The Kashmir conflict has been raised at the highest diplomatic forum after five decades,” he said, adding that the whole nation was united on the matter.
“Despite India’s opposition, the occurrence of United Nations Security Council’s meeting [on Kashmir] is an achievement,” he added.
“The parliament approved unanimous resolution at a joint session […] this is a long fight and we have to fight at every front.”
“The Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the United Nations Security Council have both responded positively to Pakistan’s call for the Kashmir issue to be taken up. The OIC has called for an immediate end to the curfew in occupied Kashmir,” he stated.
The minister said that Indian PM Modi had buried Indian National Congress’ leader Jawaharlal Nehru’s India as “there’s a huge difference between both.
Qureshi further said that this is the first time that international media has openly come out in occupied Kashmir’s support and asked questions regarding India’s recent actions.
The minister expressed his gratitude to the media in covering the developments in occupied Kashmir, while stating that the media should have a “unified stance on matters of national security.”
Meanwhile, DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor reiterated that the Armed Forces of Pakistan with the help of entire nation were ready to respond to any aggression by India.
“Pakistan army is fully prepared to confront every misadventure by India […] India’s provocation continues across the Line of Control.”
General Ghafoor revealed that Indian soldiers have been deployed at every nook and corner in the valley and the world has been keenly observing human rights’ abuses by the occupation forces.
“At present stage, the biggest issue in Jammu and Kashmir is about human rights’ violations […] the entire region has been turned into a prison,” Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor mentioned.
“By staging a false flag operation, India can take any action along the LOC; however Pakistan armed forces would respond effectively,” he said while refuting impression that Pakistan has been escalating tensions along the LOC.
He urged the international community to put more efforts for resolution of the dispute which he termed as “a nuclear flashpoint” between arch rivals Pakistan and India.
“India should forget Azad Kashmir and now the time has come for breaking free the occupied Kashmir from the occupation of Indian forces,” he said, adding that the statement of Prime Minister Imran Khan and Army Chief of reaching the last stage reiterates the army’s stance on the matter.
DG ISPR Maj General Asif Ghafoor said that the last soldier of the army would fight for Kashmir till his last breath.
