ISLAMABAD (News Pulse) Prime Minister Imran Khan held a telephonic conversation with US President Donald Trump on friday.
According to sources, conversation which continued for over 20 minutes, matters pertaining to Indo-Pak tensions, regional peace and other issues came under discussion.
Speaking on the occasion, US President Donald Trump urged that Pakistan engage with India to defuse tensions in the flashpoint region of Kashmir, the White House said.
“The president Trump conveyed the importance of India and Pakistan reducing tensions through bilateral dialogue regarding the situation in Jammu and Kashmir,” deputy press secretary Hogan Gidley said in a statement.
Prime Minister Imran Khan also took the US President into confidence regarding the UN Security Council meeting in which Kashmir issue is being discussed.
He conveyed Pakistan s concern on recent developments in Occupied Kashmir and the threat they pose to the regional peace.
